Role description:

Are you a hands-on engineer who thrives on variety, problem-solving and working with innovative equipment? Alimak Group UK is looking for an experienced Breakdown & Service Engineer to support our Construction Division across the UK.

In this pivotal role, you will deliver expert maintenance, fault-finding, repair, testing, commissioning and breakdown support across our industry-leading product range. You will play a vital part in ensuring our customers receive a safe, reliable and high-quality service while proudly representing a globally recognised brand.

 

Key tasks & responsibilities:

  • Service, maintain, fault‑find and repair Alimak Group products.
  • Conduct testing, inspections, commissioning and Thorough Examinations (where authorised)
  • You may be required to respond flexibly to customer needs, including working additional hours on weekdays and weekends and staying away from home when required.
  • Provide high-quality technical support to customers.
  • Complete service reports and documentation accurately and on time
  • Represent Alimak Group UK professionally on customer sites.
  • Participate in out-of-hours standby and flexible working as required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Competencies:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A minimum of three years’ relevant engineering experience.
  • Strong electrical knowledge, supported by recognised professional qualifications.
  • Proven technical capability within construction, industrial, access equipment and/or capital equipment environments.
  • A proactive, self-starting attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
  • A clear commitment to continuous technical learning and development.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce clear written reports and communicate confidently with customers and colleagues.
  • A logical, analytical approach with the ability to make sound, fact-based decisions.
