When you speak with Sandra Herranz Casas, one thing becomes clear almost immediately: this is someone who believes deeply in doing things with intention. Not on autopilot. Not by habit. But with reflection, care and people at the centre. Sandra is the People & Culture Manager at CoxGomyl, Madrid, Spain, and will celebrate five years with Alimak Group this October. She joined the People & Culture function, and over time her role has grown, as has her responsibility. For Sandra, that journey reflects something important about Alimak Group.
“If you are willing to develop yourself, opportunities are there,” Sandra says.
Alongside her local People & Culture work, Sandra has collaborated across the Group on topics close to her heart, including sustainability, equality, communication and data protection. She sees People & Culture not as a standalone function, but as something that touches every part of the business. What Sandra values most in her role is time to think. “We try not to work on autopilot. We pause, reflect and discuss what the best solution is in each situation,” she explains. Her workdays reflect that mindset. No two days are the same. One day may focus on communication, another on training initiatives, while the rest of the week might involve employee matters or close cooperation with the Works Council. The variety keeps her engaged and connected. Recently she got a promotion to P&C Business Partner for the HSPS division, which has broadened her global network and strategic work in supporting managers outside Spain. Outside of work, she recharges through simple pleasures like cooking, reading and spending time at home with her partner and two cats. Every Friday, she also coordinates a reading club at her local library, a space she describes as an oasis of creativity and open dialogue. Sandra’s story is a reminder that growth, reflection and human connection go hand in hand at Alimak Group. By taking time to listen, question and care, she helps shape a workplace where both people and the business can thrive.
