Heis-Tek AS, the Norwegian operation of Alimak Group, has signed an order with Statoil ASA through EPC company Aker Solutions for an explosion-proof industrial traction elevator with an order value of approximately MSEK 11.

The explosion-proof elevator will operate in a demanding and exposed environment with low temperatures during winter time when placed at the Johan Castberg field in in the Barents Sea. Engineering work commences in the first quarter of 2018 and the equipment will be delivered a year later.

"We have started to see some early movement within the oil & gas segment and are very pleased to deliver to Statoil ASA's Johan Castberg field. This order confirms the renewed interest from the sector for Alimak Group's safe, reliable and high-quality vertical access solutions and services, delivered by professionals who are close to the customer's business and understand their needs", says Tormod Gunleiksrud, CEO Alimak Group.
